This is my all-time favorite animal book. I’ve read it about one-hundred times and I always cry at the end. The book tells the story of a boy who buys two Redbone Coonhound pups, trains them and … (I can’t tell anymore, you have to read it!). I don’t think myself or my kids would have the patience and persistence of Billy. My card today gives away some of the ending, but I really want to send this card to the Colman family.
The base is a Whisper White note card (it comes in a pack WITH the envelopes). I used Smoky Slate paper cut to 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″. I used Fresh Fig ink to stamp the paw prints. The paw came from a retired stamp set that I purchased on eBay. I had searched for Stampin’ Up pet sympathy cards on Pinterest to find some stamp set suggestions.
The circle was cut from Smoky Slate paper using the 2″ circle punch. The saying was stamped in the Fresh Fig color. I used some white bakers twine to give it a verve then attached the circle with dimensionals to create depth.
I left the inside blank so that it could be personalized.
Hopefully, this card makes you “yowl” with joy and not “whimper” in sadness. I have another card/book coming soon so until then–“RUUUFFF”!
